BirdVoicePEN
Overview: This groundbreaking new technology gives you instant access to listen and learn bird vocalizations for 270 species (see Field Guide section for list).
BirdVoicePEN allows you to simply point at the bird in question instantly hear a collection of CD quality recordings for each species.
Sounds are split into call and song (display vocalisation) for easy access. Or, if you wish, select the “Voice Guide” button and hear Geoff Sample explain key features and insights about the vocalisation.
Until now we have all used tapes, CD collections and possibly even MP3 devices with the one fundamental issue, when you want to hear a specific bird you have to search for it.
Using optical reading technology, the BirdVoicePEN accesses any of the 270 British species instantly - all you have to do is switch it on and point to the bird, on the Field Guide, Sticker or in the Organiser.
This instant accessibility means there is no fast forwarding, no skipping track - jut point! It’s really that simple.
The pen runs on two AAA batteries, has a built in speaker and there are ports for external speakers / earphones.
The PEN also doubles as an mp3 player, so you can add your own music or recordings.
Price: £97.82 including vat.
The BirdVociePEN includes a 256MB Memory card with 270 species (Note: you will need to purchase a guide in addition to the PEN to access the sounds)
How to use BirdVoice: Switch on the PEN, select BirdVoice, touch the name of the bird, then sit back and listen to the sound as it emerges from off the device like magic.
Sounds: - 270 British species + option to add more in future - Selection of calls per species (e.g. flight and alarm call) - Typical songs (display vocalisation) - Voice Guide per species highlighting information including: what to listen for, seasonal variation, and similarities, etc
